ANDREW LEWIS - Chief Executive Officer


Andy joined NZP in April 2005 as General Manager of NZP Ltd, responsible for ensuring the day to day management & administration of the company as well as overseeing the global procurement of key raw materials and holding the role of Director for NZP’s subsidiary Just the Berries.  In September 2009 Andy oversaw the acquisition of NZP’s newest subsidiary Dextra, a specialised carbohydrate chemistry company based in Reading (UK).  In March 2010 Andy was appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer for NZP, Dextra and JTB.  Prior to NZP, Andy gained experience managing a number of manufacturing organisations across the Asia-Pacific region, which included significant business merger & transition experience. Andy holds engineering undergraduate qualitifications, an MBA from Massey University and is a Member of the NZ Institute of Directors. 



ALEX WEYMOUTH-WILSON - Chief Scientific Officer

Alex completed his graduate and postgraduate education at the University of Reading receiving his PhD in 1993 under the supervision of Professor John Mann. With over 20 years' experience in the fine chemical industry at Dextra, Isochem and CMS, Alex has extensive synthetic experience developing innovative scalable routes to key intermediates and API's predominately in the field of carbohydrates. Alex was appointed Chief Scientific Officer of Dextra and NZP in 2011.




ED TEECE - General Manager, NZ Site

Ed joined NZP in April 2010 as Operations Manager. Ed has a wealth of global experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, spanning over 20 years, in a variety of functions including Site Operations, Manufacturing (Finished Dosage Forms and API), Quality Operations, Project Management and R&D. Ed is a Chartered Chemist and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (CChem FRSC), Chartered Quality Professional (CQP CQI), holds an MSc in Industrial Pharmacy from the University of Manchester, is an experienced EU Qualified Person (Commercial and IMP) with eligibility for nomination under the permanent provisions, and a Member of the NZ Institute of Directors (MInstD).




KAREN ETHERINGTON - General Manager, UK Site

Karen joined Dextra in 2006 to manage the analytical and quality functions at the Reading site. Having worked for the WHO, been instrumental in the founding and expansion of Warwick Analytical Service, the head of Analytical Chemistry at Ultrafine and SAFC in Manchester she has significant experience in the research, development, manufacturing, quality and regulatory activities related to the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients.
